Army Veteran’s Story Highlights Systemic Defects in VA’s Addiction Care Practices

We all claim to love our veterans. Even the most devout pacifists recognize that our men and women in uniform are following orders and doing their best to keep our country safe. When it’s convenient, politically expedient or in any documented in public, our institutions and those who run them claim to place the highest premium on the health, safety and quality of life of our active and retired military. Behind closed doors, however, we often find an entirely different story, even from the very institutions whose job it is to protect our Veterans’ interests and help them transition into everyday civilian life.
